To a certain extent, the venue will make difference to the style of Wedding Dress you choose. If you are having a beach wedding, a wedding dress with a long train is probably not ideal. A simple floaty chiffon dress that you can walk barefoot in is far more appropriate.

Your budget will obviously dictate where you buy your bridal gown. You may choose couture, made-to-measure, off the peg or a vintage-style dress. You may choose to hire a wedding dress. If you are having a wedding dress designed specifically for you, then it is obviously going cost more than if you buy a wedding dress off the peg. A professional wedding dress designer will spend a great deal of time discussing your requirements, building a relationship with you, suggesting different fabrics, designing and creating a stunning wedding dress to suit your individual body shape. A bespoke wedding dress will be unique to you. It is a one-off dress that nobody else will have. But you will pay for the privilege.

However, there are some fabulous wedding dresses to be found in high street wedding shops and prices that are far more affordable. You will find traditional gowns with stunning, hand-worked beading, fairytale princess styles with acres of frothy tulle and crystals, stunning strapless corset style bridal gowns with ribbon lacing down the back for a really flattering look or short wedding dresses for a contemporary, stylish look. There will be a wide range of sizes, shapes and colors and most wedding dress shops will also have a few maternity wedding dresses. So the choices are endless.
Although white is the traditional color for a wedding dresses, it doesn’t suit everyone. Ivory can give a softer, more flattering look or you may want to go something completely different like dramatic red or purple. There is a huge variety of wedding outfits in an array of colors and there are no rules. Black is fantastic for a gothic style wedding.

Try on as many wedding dresses as you can – even something you don’t think will suit you. You may be surprised. Try different necklines and always try a pair of shoes with your dress so you can see exactly how the hemline will fall. Once you have chosen you will have several fittings, right up to the last minute to make sure it is absolutely perfect.

All the hard work that goes into the planning, shopping, designing, measuring and fitting will all disappear when you slip your wedding dress on for the final, most special day. All eyes will be on the bride.
